For over 20 years Bonnie Bircher and associates have guided clients through every aspect of their financial life. From investing and saving to retirement and estate planning, Bircher takes pride in offering the highest levels of service and ethics.
Founded in 1993 by Bonnie Bircher, Bircher Financial Group is a financial services company providing comprehensive insurance planning, estate and tax strategies, investment advice and financial planning for business owners and professionals. Our goal is to design financial strategies which will enable you to live for today and save for tomorrow.
Bircher Financial Group is independent of any Broker, Insurance or Mutual Fund Company and is member of the Financial Planner Standards Council, Independent Financial Brokers and Advocis.

We take pride in creating tailored solutions to achieve the financial goals of each individual client. Clients are guided through a process that begins with listening and understanding their priorities, lifestyle and legacy objectives. An assessment of current status and risk tolerance is completed and a precise view of the entire financial picture is drawn. Next, a comprehensive strategic plan is designed to achieve identified goals and objectives.
Our Team
Bonnie Bircher
Bonnie is an independent Certified Financial Planning professional specializing in investment, insurance, and tax planning services for professionals and business owners. A combination of extensive knowledge, education and twenty years experience allows Bonnie to expertly guide her clients through all aspects of the financial planning process and wealth management.
Truly committed to understanding her clients and their specific needs, Bonnie adds a dose of charm and wit along with profound professionalism, as she deftly guides her clientele towards financial success
Educated at Simon Fraser University in finance and accounting, Bonnie then became a licensed insurance broker providing estate-planning services. After mastering the intricacies of insurance planning, segregated funds, wills and tax planning, she progressively moved into comprehensive financial planning.
Bonnie returned to school and graduated with honours from Mount Royal College in 1999 as a Certified Financial Planner, continuing her practice as Bircher Financial.
Nicholas Baharally Investment Advisor
Nicholas has been a part of Bircher Financial for 5 years, and has grown into an integral part of our team. Working alongside Bonnie these past years has helped Nicholas to develop into a true professional in the industry.
Growing up in Stettler, Alberta, Nicholas developed a love for sports. He played many years of football, eventually transitioning into a coaching role, where he found a passion for helping others grow and succeed. Nicholas also loves taking every opportunity he can to travel abroad, to learn about and experience new cultures.
Having graduated from the University of Alberta in 2019 with a Bachelor of Commerce Degree majoring in Finance, Nicholas has a very bright future ahead of him as he continues to grow in his role as an advisor at Bircher Financial.
Olena Sysoieva Assistant
Olena has a Master’s degree in Finance with more than a decade of experience in both government and the financial sector, she has honed her skills in navigating complex financial landscapes. Over the past two years, she has worked at Bircher Financial Group, gaining invaluable insights and expertise in providing comprehensive financial support.
Dedicated to assisting clients in achieving their financial goals, her true calling lies in helping others and resolving a wide spectrum of financial challenges. Whether in her professional capacity or personal endeavors, Olena finds immense fulfillment in making a positive impact on people’s financial lives.
In 2017, she and her family relocated from Ukraine to Canada, settling in the breathtaking province of Alberta. Out of the office Olena spends her free time with her family experiencing the majestic mountains.
Laura Buchko Executive Assistant
Laura began as a licensed insurance agent acquiring her HLLQ designation and specializing in risk management for four years. She holds a Business Administration diploma from Red River College and a Marketing degree from the University of Manitoba. Committed to continuous growth, Laura furthered her expertise by earning a Life Coaching certificate from Rhodes Wellness College, reflecting her dedication to a holistic approach in her professional endeavors.
Laura recently moved from Winnipeg to Calgary to further her professional financial career and to be closer to her family. Beyond work she enjoys outdoor activities, especially in mountainous and boat life. Passionate about community engagement, Laura supports the Humane Society, contributes to global humanitarian efforts, and has donated her hair multiple times for cancer awareness. Excited to join Bircher Financial, Laura aims to expand her expertise in the mutual fund sector and continue to educate herself in the financial industry.
